Pavilhão Atlântico features a variety of safety systems geared to ensure the comfort and safety of our visitors.
Our safety systems fall into three categories:

Composed of:
• Closed-circuit surveillance cameras on the inside and outside of the pavilion, interlinked with an interval recording system to record anomalous events.
• Radio Communication System

• Public Address System – to broadcast urgent announcements
• Intrusion Detection System

 Emergency Lighting System
The whole inside of the pavilion is equipped with an emergency lighting system connected to a dynamic generator / UPS group, which guarantees the building’s vital systems and security in case of a power failure.
There is also a network of autonomous blocks of emergency lighting signalling all the exits and emergency escape routes.

 Other Features
The Pavilhão Atlântico has a Local Control Centre – LCC - responsible for the coordination and execution of control and surveillance activities. Managed by a security coordinator, the centre brings together all the systems and alarms information from the various parts of the complex through a security console composed of the following systems and devices:
• Fire Detection
• Fire Extinguishing
• Carbon Monoxide and Flammable Gases Detection
• Flood Detection
• Intrusion Detection
• Exit Door Release
• Access Control
• Round Control
• Security Equipment Technical Defect Alarms
• Signs indicating fire-fighting water supplies
• Processing and display of images from all closed-circuit TV cameras
• Operation of communication posts linked to security functions and major radio communication posts
• Link to the telecommunications hub to communicate by telephone with the building and outside
• Operation of the Public Address System for emergency announcements
• Direct links to the Police and Fire Department
• Operation of water curtains in the concession areas
• Operation of a smoke-extraction system

The pavilion also has a Security Manual and Internal Emergency Plan, as well as a preferential relationship with the local emergency services, all of which are complemented by permanent rounds both inside and outside the building.

Useful Information regarding Safety and Security at Events
Smoking is prohibited inside the hall.
Entry is not allowed while the event is under way, except with permission from the stewards.
The programme may be altered due to unforeseen events.
Dangerous objects are not allowed, nor are pets or wild animals (even if they are tame).
Cameras, video cameras and sound recording devices are not allowed inside the hall.
